CCPD stands for the Center for Career and Professional Development. It’s essentially a career services department here at Post University. We serve students in helping them with their professional development, everything from self-assessments to job search, resume writing, cover letters, mock interviews, follow-up after interviews.
We work with our online students, as well as main campus and alumni.
The online population tends to be adult learners, and there they might be a different career stage. Whereas our main campus students are more traditional students, just kind of figuring out, you know, who they are as young adults, where they want to go in their next steps. Maybe they’re not certain, and so we’re able to work with them and kind of help them to figure it out. And then help them with the next steps to get there.
I think that we really do a very good job of serving those students who are our adult learners, who may not be the traditional main campus students, the 18-, 19-, 20-year-olds. But rather adult learners who might be in a career already looking to transition, maybe start new. We provide them with self-assessments. We evaluate their resumes. We help them with interview skills.
I think that what Post offers is unique because of just the sheer amount of online students that we have and the fact that we are servicing them in terms of career services. And so we want them to know that we’re here for them just as we are for our main campus students.
So I think that’s what really makes us unique.
