All right, welcome to your interview Lisa.
This is amazing.
Yeah, come on in.
Thank you so much for having me.
Of course. Welcome back to the Palace Theater.
Wow.
Let’s check out the stage.
Wow. It’s amazing to be back here.
In addition to today’s interview, we have a little surprise for you. All right, turn on the screen.
Wow.
Do you remember writing this, Lisa?
I do. Very much so.
I think it’s something that you should read to all the other people out there who are just like you.
Okay. Storytime …
20 years ago, tragedy struck my family while I was attending another college at the tail end of my senior year. I left college to be with my family during finals week. Then returned to make up what I could. I walked the stage with cap and gown with the promise that I would finish during the summer. With a few credits remaining to complete my degree, I left instead.
No reason, just left and started a life elsewhere. 20 years later, working my way up the ladder and fighting for positions based on experience alone, here I am. I transferred the maximum credits allowable to Post University and began to change my circumstance.
Anything I needed, Post University made themselves available. Whether that be through admissions, whether that be through Student Government Association, whether that be through the deans. Constand support and consistent support throughout every level, people who I still have not met to this day, still make sure I have everything I need in order to succeed. That really did make every difference.
I enjoy not only being an entrepreneur, a mother, a career-driven person, but I love learning. I want to do things. I want to be able to say that I’ve accomplished these things, and that I’ve taught others to do it, as well.
Many doubted my choices, but now I have finished my Bachelor of Science, and started my master’s program the very next day. No more explaining my educational experience at interviews. No more showing incomplete transcripts to prospective employers. No more getting turned down for the more desirable positions due to the lack of a degree.
I am now and even greater force to be reckoned with.
